Let’s start with the basics. The first difference between these two planners is that the daily planner gives you enough pages for six months, while the weekly edition gives you enough for an entire year.

The main difference between these two planners is of course the daily spread (or lack thereof).


The daily planner includes a page for a high-level look at the week complete with sections to track personal and work to-dos, sleep, mood and habits. In the daily edition, the weekly planning page is followed by seven pages for each day. Each day planning page includes areas for gratitude, your top goal for the day, exercise, self-care, water intake, meal planning, to-dos, and schedule.


In the weekly edition, the first planning page of a weekly spread is the same page in the daily edition - why reinvent the wheel, right? Seriously though, the page serves the purpose in both editions of setting goals for the week and tracking habits, sleep, and mood so you can easily see what choices and habits set you up for success. After the general weekly planning page, comes the diet and fitness section. This space allows you to plan out your meals and workout routine for the week and is followed by a section reserved for general notes - perfect for some extra to-dos or a brain dump. The next two pages of the weekly planning layout allow space for daily gratitude lists, top daily goals, and of course a space reserved for self-care.

The daily planner is perfect for people who like to dig into the details. You’re someone who has a place for everything and you keep everything in its place - or that’s the goal, at least. It is great for the student who has to structure their schedule around specific class times or the working mom who is balancing meetings and soccer practice schedules all at once. The daily edition is also great if you want to try time blocking or you know you will need to plan things more specifically on a daily basis.

The weekly planner is perfect for people who prefer to not micromanage their time. You want to plan what you need to do and your direction for the week, but the thought of sitting down and planning out every task or moment seems more daunting than helpful. If you work in a reaction-based profession or you hold a customer service role you’ll never be able to plan each moment of the day but you can still keep yourself on track!
